I am grateful for tourists!

I have a friend visiting from out of town and she is having such a good time going to all the local tourist places. I am always grateful for the new appreciation I get for some parts of my beautiful city that I don't normally take advantage of or truly admire the beauty of until someone who doesn't live here reminds me how lucky I am. One of the most beautiful things about living in San Diego doesn't cost a dime.. the amazing sunsets over the Pacific Ocean.. What things do you take for granted where you live???

My hubby has that t-shirt, he got it at Legoland last month.

I just had out of town visitors as well and found a new appreciation of Pike Place Market. I take it for granted since it is within walking distance of my work.

Oh yeah, I loved your sunsets too, very much!!! But here, there are lots of things I take for granted too: the changing seasons for example (I love them all and every new season I think "this is my favorite season" just to have that same thought again a few months later - lol!) and all the little shops everywhere and being able to ride my bike everywhere I want....

I wish I could see your sunset, but I have to tell you that sunrise on this side of the Pacific Ocean is also amazing!! It just goes to say that we should all love what we have in front of us!!!

Oh, dear. I don't appreciate much about where I live since it's a small military town, and probably the ugliest place I have ever been in the US. Seriously. It's very dirty, very poor. If anything, it makes me realize how much I took for granted when we were living in Seattle. I miss that beautiful town more than anything!

Dana,

Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. I found your great photos on flickr, and linked over to your blog as well. Do you mind if I ask where the 'Vickery' in 'Vickery-Vous' comes from?

Thanks,
Susan Slinkard

Hey you!! Came over the answer the Q you left on my blog. I don't think s'mores on the foreman grill would work... I broiled the ones I did, and had the mallow sitting on the graham cracker the whole time on a baking sheet. I didn't roast them on sticks. They still tasted GREAT!!

I LOVE your city and have been a consummate tourist while I have been here! Thank you so much for all of your suggestions of things to do while we have been here, they were all wonderful. I will be sad to leave tomorrow. :0(

i am forever thinking that michael and i should pretend like we're tourists and see things with new eyes or things that we haven't seen before.

there is a museum i'd like to see, pictures i'd like to take, some fishing i'd like to do, and some yumminess i'd like to eat.

okay, well the eating thing i do on a regular basis :)
