Everyone should be lucky enough to have great friends. This is my pal Johnny. I have known him forever and he is always there for me. John is gay and recently married his wonderful partner Chip. A few weeks ago the law changed here in California and gay marriage is no longer recognized. We don't know what is going to happen to marriages that were performed before the law went into effect.
No matter where you stand on the topic, I think everyone knows what it is like to love someone so much that you want to be married to the person that you want to spend the rest of your life with.
I think everyone knows what it's like to want to be acknowledged as having a relationship that is beyond dating or living together. I think everyone can also understand at some level the amount of pain it would cause to be newlyweds and to have that feeling overshadowed by a sudden revoking of your right to be married. What do you say or do for a friend that views the issue as one of civil rights. What are your views on the topic?

Woa girl, that is a tough one. I am different in the fact that my boyfriend and I don't believe in getting married. We are what we are and we are happy that way.
But, I can understand the helplessness of having society tell you what "they" think is right and wrong. I think that is crap. Good luck and just be there for him like he has always been for you (which I am positive you are :P).
Oh and I forgot to tell you...I like the layout! lol
First off, love your LO! What a specical way to pay tribute to a special friend! One of my very best friends from High School is gay and she has been in a relationship for 25 years. I love both of them, and they would do anything in the world for you! I would find it to be sad, if rights were taken away. It's tough out there, with religious beliefs, and then laws that are being tested. I just know that I treasure the relationship that Terry and I have and consider her to be a sister! Thanks for all of your kind comments on my Blog. I so look forward to hearing from you! Hope you had a great weekend!
Great layout Dana!! This is such an emotional topic for everyone, no matter what their beliefs. I have lots of gay friends, and they are loved by me without judgement. It is not up to me to tell them they are wrong, and cannot love one another! And, they have always been great friends I can count on!!! *STAMPIN HUGS* Alex
I think it is a violation of our civil liberties to not "allow" gay marriages! Just my two bits!!! I miss you girlfriend...hope to see you soon!
Beautiful LO!!
In my opition - one love can't in any way be less worth than another, based on gender and/or sexual orientation - and if God was to be asked, I'm pretty sure he'd tell us all to re-read the Bible if we doubt it. Two of the most essential parts of Christianity are that we should never judge one another. It's just not our job - leave it to that big guy up there.
Also - love thy neighbour.
In my eyes, it pretty obvious that sexual orientation isn't the big issue when we get to the pearly gates. As long as you're a good person ánd have a good heart I really don't think it matters. Love is a gift. Not something only some of us are supposed to experience.
Hugs!
hey my friend! your layout is lovely and very happy! Make your friend happy with being there for him in such a hard time! How can they take their right away!? Sometimes it´s hard to understand how world works...
Great layout Dana! I don't understand why it matters to anyone else who a person loves. Who are we (or the government) to put parameters into place? Or to take something away once it has been given? Love is the greatest gift of all, to be shared with whomever a person chooses. You are a good friend to standy by this couple Dana.
PS you are welcome to come to dinner anytime you find yourself in Seattle.
i am so glad you have someone there for you... {{{hugs}}}
i have several gay friends and i am all for gay marriage...who are we to judge if that is what makes them happy...i was highly disappointed i didn't live in CA during ya'll election b/c i would have vote ALL FOR IT!!!
Beautiful Layout.

What a sweet and amazing little girl!
As long as you are in love who cares who you marry - that is within reason, of course! Inantimate objects don't count!
I have missed you my friend - sorry I have been AWOL! I will get back to the blogging world soon!
dear friend.. I´ve got to tell you a secret: you´re my VERY best friend in blogland! but... sssshhhh ;)
PS: Thanks for your sweet comment!
I'm very lucky to be living in a country where it's fairly normal to be married when you're gay. There will always be a few groups of people who don't agree of course, but you find that everywhere.... I hope that your friends John and Chip will be able to maintain their married status and hope they'll overcome all difficulties now and in the future and will live happily ever after.
Oh, and I think your layout is wonderful!!! (love those papers!!).
What a nice page and funny layout
